Scene 1: West Lake Police Department; West Lake, NY

Paige doesn’t even know what has compelled her to the inside of the West Lake police department as she waits with Shane inside of Greg Forrester's office. She is certain that she feels ill at the moment wanting to run out the door. She is still in shock that Shane is by her side, instead thinking he would be running out the door. His reaction is quite the opposite as he sits next to her, patiently waiting for her to confess.

The door opens and she slightly feels the color drain from her face as she looks up at Greg and Tyler in the doorway. She hadn’t expected Tyler to be with him, it hadn’t crossed her mind. Now she feels even more sick, Tyler was Hannah's brother and she is certain that her one time friend will now just hate her. She is a bit surprised that Callie isn’t by his side, and she is grateful for that as well, once she speaks it will be over for her friendship with them.

“The deputy out front mentioned that you had some information on Hannah’s case?” Greg asks, looking at Tyler for a moment.

Both had been on their way over to his father’s house after his mother called with information when the call came across the radio. Stating that Paige was in his office, with Shane Porter asking to speak to him about Hannah’s case. Just when he and Tyler though the case couldn’t have another twist in it Paige Alexander is in his office, looking white as a sheet at him.

“I don’t think Hannah’s death was an accident.” Paige manages to get out.

“What do you mean?” Greg asks, taking a seat behind his desk.

Paige waits for a moment glancing over at Tyler before speaking, “A few weeks before the accident I was at Elliot Davison’s house. I had been fighting with him about the video tapes he had of us in bed, he had a gun. We struggled, it went off shooting him in the stomach, he fell down the stairs. I panicked and fled. By the time I got to the door Hannah was on the other side and we heard the gun go off again we got to the room and Jessica was with Elliot’s body. The gun was just lying there...she told us we had to get rid of it and the body, she said they would send me to prison. She said that he had shot himself in the head, there was so much blood Hannah and I panicked. I didn’t even know that she was there at the house. Hannah and I helped drag the body down to the lake,’ Paige says, pausing for a bit at the memory, tears springing to her eyes. ‘Hannah didn’t like what we had done she wanted to go to the police.”

Tyler is certain that his mouth has fallen open in shock at what he believes to be absurd comments about his sister from Paige, looking over at Greg for an explanation. Before he can deliver one however Paige finishes her statement.

“By the time that she let Jessica know that she was going to the police so that they could sort it out Jessica told her that she wasn’t going to let it happen. She was at the party up at the Donovan cabin, followed Hannah around. I wanted to turn myself in for what happened with Elliot and I fully believe that Jessica was involved in with happened with Hannah’s car that night. I wanted to come forward earlier, but I was so scared and then Ryan began pressuring me to keep quiet with the photos from the tapes. I just want to make things right.”

Shane can see that she is on the verge of tears, as he reaches over to take her hand in his letting her know that he is there for her. Tyler can feel his blood pressure rise a bit at Paige’s confession something that she has kept hidden for years. Greg takes out a pen and paper handing them to Paige so she can write her confession down before looking up at Tyler.

"Wait a minute who is Ryan?" Tyler asks, the information setting in as his cell beings to ring.

Paige looks up at him fear in her eyes, "Ryan Davidson is Brian McAllister's brother."

“Get Callie on the phone we need to secure a warrant to search the lake. I’m going to have to take you down to interrogation until we get this all sorted out.” Greg says, first to Tyler and then to Paige.

Paige looks up at him and can feel the tears start to come down her face, as Shane grips her hand in support.

“I know.”

Scene 2: West Lake Police Department; West Lake, NY

Alan hasn’t even bothered to go home as he makes his way into the police station, one of the secretaries calling to let him know that a force is at the office looking for evidence. It is too late, his secret from that night has already caught up with him, the only thing he can do is pray that Richard has a back up plan. He is certain that Bridgette is on the way to the station as well, and his thoughts are confirmed as he sees her car in the parking lot.

His heart is racing as he makes his way into the station to see Bridgette frantic at the front desk, looking for someone to help her. His first instinct is to go to her, his second is to find out how Paige is and then leave. He can see James out of the corner of his eye, talking to a police officer and then makes his move towards Bridgette to find out how their daughter is.

“Thank God!’ Bridgette finally says, looking at Alan as he approaches. ‘They won’t tell me anything other than stating that she is being held. Greg arrested her.”

Bridgette knows that in a moment like this she shouldn’t be selfish, but she wants it all to go back under wraps. She is already cursing her decision to encourage Paige to come back after she had sent her out of town after the accident. She is sad that Hannah died that night, there is no denying that it was tragic but she would cover it up again in a heart beat if she had to.

Alan doesn’t even know what to tell her he has never thought of Paige as a murderer, but covering up the murder made her exactly that. He sees James approach them out of the corner of his eye, wondering if Bridgette has told him. James is clearly disgruntled as he approaches the news not being good.

“Paige came down here and talked to Greg. The evidence is just now being gathered to validate her story. They’re holding her for a bit to give Tyler time to gather the evidence. I don’t understand why she would come down here and spout of about helping bury someone,’ James states, looking at Bridgette and then towards Alan. ‘What are you doing here?”

Bridgette, makes a weak attempt to stop the fight, “James, now isn’t the time for this please.”

Before Alan can say anything he sees Tyler enter the station with his wife, a handful of papers in hand and he can feel his face turn white. Karen knows, Tyler knows and soon everyone else will know. He can barely look at his son, who comforts his mother before heading down the hallway to the interrogation room. Karen looks like she has been beaten emotionally as she approaches the group.

“Karen, are you all right?” James asks, quickly sensing that something is wrong.

Karen has tried to wrap her head around the news that she uncovered earlier in the day and now she feels better after turning over the evidence to Tyler. She feels that Hannah can now rest in peace, that she can rest in peace. She still doesn’t know what to believe about the accident or Hannah’s car herself. However, after talking to Tyler she knows that it is enough to have everything come into question about what she knows.

She feels like she is waking in a dream barley hearing James’s voice as her hand collides with Bridgette’s face, before scowling at her husband. She can feel the rage inside of her body, as they all stare at her in shock or hurt, none of it can compare to her own. Their daughter is alive and well, while hers is six feet under rotting away in the ground because of a lie. They are silent for a moment before James speaks again breaking the eery silence.

“Bridgette, what is going on?”

His statement is met with silence as his wife and Alan exchange a glance and his heart sinks. Karen breaking the silence with her answer.

“Paige is Alan’s daughter. Paige, Hannah and Jessica Robbins, tossed Elliot Davison over a pier into the lake. Hannah died and instead of exposing the truth they covered it up. Going as far as to set up Vanessa to go to prison.” Karen spats.

James can feel his legs give way as he stumbles backwards to a seat in the waiting area. Waiting for Bridgette or Alan to rebuke Karen’s claim, when it doesn’t come he holds his head in his hands and lets the tears flow.

Scene 3: 574 Shoreline Dr. Apt #5; West Lake, NY

Kate has felt ill for a few weeks and has amounted it to stress and worry from Liz over dosing and working long hours. Eventually heading out of Brian’s party early on in the evening. She made an appearance to support her friend, Cade dropped her off at home and she hasn’t felt good since. Finally realizing that is it time to see if her worst fears are coming true about her mistake with Austin.

Now she has no choice but to sit and wait in the living room looking at the clock and waiting for the timer to go off. She doesn’t want it to be true, but the symptoms add up all to quickly for her now that she has time to think about it. The morning sickness, nausea at work, the fatigue and knowing if it is true she has to find a way to explain it. She has already let Cade down once, more than once she has let herself down and her friends.

She can hear the timer go off and closes her eyes, saying a silent prayer and hoping that it isn’t true. The walk down the hallway to the bathroom is met with complete silence and she can feel her heart racing. Reaching the counter she looks at the five tests displayed on the sink, a pink line through each and she can feel herself get light headed. This was not how things were supposed to happen for her, she has made a mistake with Austin at the tuxedo shop, something she now realizes is a grave one.

The knock on the door wrestles her out of her trance, eyes full of tears that are waiting to fall. Wiping her face quickly, trying to compose herself as much as she can for whoever is behind the door. Reaching it, she swings it open to see Cade standing before her his Cade his face sullen.

“What’s wrong?” she asks, seeing his distress as she holds open the door for him to come in.

Cade has been in a flurry of emotions ever since he got the call from his father letting him know that the police have raided Brian’s house. Looking for a body, something that he wasn’t even aware could exist in the lake. He is more concerned about his sister finding out the truth about everything that happened between Kate and Jake.

“My dad called, the police went and raided Brian’s party. He said that Vanessa and Brian fought earlier and then she headed out, Jake followed her.” Cade says, quietly his eyes meeting hers noticing her discomfort.

Kate casts her eyes downward for a moment before looking at him, “Do you think she knows?”

Cade takes a moment to sit down on the couch, offering her a light shrug. She doesn’t even know what more she can say to the shrug as she takes a seat next to him. Feeling all of her energy drain from her, her mistake with Jake that night coming back to bite all of them. She fiddles with her hands for a bit, thinking over the events of the party that night where she simply made a mistake. She and Jake rarely talk about it, it is too painful, if they hadn’t of crossed the line that night Vanessa would have never got behind the wheel.

“I never wanted her to find out again, not like this.” Kate says, fighting back tears looking over at Cade.

She knows she should tell him about the pregnancy but she can’t bring herself to do it. Not until she is sure what she is going to do about it, not until she is sure she wants to rip Austin’s life apart. Hurting Liz, so soon after her trip to the hospital and then rehab would only do more damage than good. The toll of everything finally comes out, as the tears stream down her face. Cade, is silent for a moment in her apartment before reaching over and pulling her to him, before speaking.

“I know.”

Scene 4: West Lake Country Club Room #230; West Lake, NY

Jessica had arrived late to Brian’s party just as everything was getting started, Jake of course rushing towards Vanessa’s aid as if his life depended on it. Seeing Vanessa crushed, put her in a better mood that was quickly replaced with disgust as Jake took off after her. She tilted back the last of her drink and then left, heading straight to the country club going to Ryan's room. Hours later she is spent in the bed laying next to him after hours of being pleased.

She has been trying to snag Jake for weeks, she even stopped taking her birth control, intent on getting her hooks into him. She had thought that they had made a turn around New Year’s only to be disappointed with the outcome. So she resorted to the next best thing that she could think of, trying with Ryan. Jake will hardly know the difference if she does in fact get pregnant.

She is annoyed by the ringing of her cell phone, rolling her eyes for a moment before curiosity wins out and she reaches for it. She quickly sits up in bed noticing her father’s number, Ryan is already tracing his fingers on her inner thigh and she slaps his hand away. Not that she doesn’t want to be with him again, but more interested in why her father would be calling her. When he attempts to trace his fingers upwards a second time, she grabs his hand to stop him.

“Let me get this. It could be important,” she hisses.

Ryan sees the seriousness in her voice and can only help but wait for her to get done with the call. So far their plan is going as scheduled, she is right where she needs to be with Jake and he is putting the right amount of pressure on Paige. He just wants to know when he will be getting his part of the money from the Donovan estate. Of course the only way to achieve the money is of course for Jessica to get Jake in her clutches and for him to pretend he gave a damn about the man who raised him.

“You need to destroy everything you have about the accident.” Richard’s voice pleads with his daughter into the phone.

This gets her attention and sex is the furthest thing from her mind, the phone records back at her apartment coming to mind. From there she needs to assure that her story is the same as her father’s, she also needs to assure that Ryan never finds out the truth. He isn’t one to take kindly to being used and this will be no different, than someone betraying him. No matter their past, if she lays her cards right everything will go as planned and she won’t have to take drastic measures.

“What happened?” she asks, getting out of the bed and away from Ryan’s touch.

He is a bit taken aback by her sudden need to pull away from him, though he isn’t surprised she has been doing it for years. It is what makes them the same, she doesn’t care about who she uses or destroys as long as she gets what she wants. He doesn’t care if he tramples over everything in order to get what he wants, and hurting people is like child’s play to him. even if that means his brother in the end He is already getting out of bed reaching for his jeans, as she listens to her father.

She is shocked that is the only thing that she can think of as she listens to her father, tell her that Paige went down to the police station and told them everything. He is panicking with the gun missing from the safe, assuring her that she will not have a connection to the scene. It will be her word against Paige’s, something that she hopes that she can manipulate, the only problem will be with the photos from Hannah’s camera and if they find the hard copy of the video tape from the incident. She is now cursing that part of the plan in allowing them to remain in order for Ryan to blackmail Paige.

“I’ll be right down.” Jessica, finally manages to get out hanging up the phone.

She works fast, pulling the dress over her head not paying attention to Ryan who is trying to get her attention. He finally gets, fed up with repeating himself and makes his way over to her, forcing her to look at him.

“What’s going on?”

“The police are on their way to my father’s office, I need to do damage control...,” Jessica begins, relief coming when his phone rings.

Ryan lightens his grip on her, as he answers Brian’s call. “Brian?”

He freezes at his brother’s response.

“You should come down to the house. The police are here, they think dad never left West Lake, something about him being in the lake.”

Ryan pauses, knowing that his connection to the night of the accident can’t be far behind the discovery. Closing his eyes for a moment before speaking. “I’m on my way.”

He doesn’t have time to leave Jessica a response, as he throws a shirt on and is out the door. Nor does he see the sinister look on her face, letting him know that he has the wrong girl in mind for murdering his father.

Scene 5: West Lake District Attorney's Office; West Lake, NY

Richard knew it was all over as soon, as internal affairs showed up earlier that morning to start going through all the paperwork in the offices. They haven’t reached his office yet and he knows that he has one of two choices. Let his daughter go down for murder along with Paige or to save her. Something that he supposes he owes his only child, as a father he should protect her.

Going to the safe turns the combination on the door in order to retrieve the gun and get rid of it along with the rest of the evidence related to the case. His shocked when the only thing in the safe related to the case are the actual paper documents, the bloody gun is no longer there. Fear, sets in as he begins throwing things from the safe feeling the walls close in on him tighter, feeling the walls close in on his daughter and Paige Alexander. He thinks about calling Alan, knowing that it would now be a mistake and the only thing he can think about is getting rid of the files.

The front door to his office opens and he meets Marla's eyes from behind her desk, he may not care for the mother of his child but he is relieved to see her in his office. She looks a bit shell shocked at him holding the gun that their daughter once pulled the trigger on. He doesn’t have time to offer her up an explanation as he begins shredding the rest of the files that he possesses about the case.

“Have you talked to Jess yet?” Marla asks, alarm in her voice as she watches him.

She is met with a nod of his head as he works to remove the files in the office, her stomach is in knots. The entire thing over the last four years getting more complicated than she ever thought it would and destroying people. She is still wary of why Richard is helping their daughter, he has hardly ever been father of the years. She pauses for a moment curious, as to if she should ask the question that has been on her mind all of the years.

“Why are you doing this?”

Her question makes him stop shredding files to turn around and look at the mother of his child. He is doing it because he loves his daughter, he wants her to be happy after he and Alan effectively set all of this into motion years before Hannah died. He owes it to his daughter to help her in her time of need no matter what their past relationship may or may not entail.

“Marla, she is my daughter.”

“I know, but was it really necessary to lay the blame on Vanessa Harvell to take the fall?”

Richard is unsure of how to answer her, someone had to go down for the crime, Jessica made sure that the ecstasy was in the drinks to make it look like an accident. His contact had assured him that the car was tampered with properly to look like a mistake, Vanessa was never the intended target. She was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, he saw the opportunity and then he ran with it. Agreeing with Alan, Marla and Bridgette that Vanessa going away, was better than them pulling out Elliot Davison’s body from the bottom of the lake. He isn’t able to answer her as the door to his office is opened and Greg enters with Simon.

“Put the papers down Richard. It is all over.” Greg says, motioning for the other two officers to take control of Richard.

Richard can do nothing but back up as Greg takes the file off his desk and Simon Hoffman's face breaks out into the smug grin that he has hated since law school.

Scene 6: 1298 Hollow Oak Way; West Lake, NY

The drive out the the lake has been a somber one, and it has already begun to rain as Tyler pulls up to Brian’s house. The party for the book is still in full swing, ending with gasps as he and Greg knock on the door. Judge Newman had been more than supportive of issuing the warrant after they found Richard with the files in his office. Callie simply had to file a piece of paperwork and it was signed on the spot.

Entering the house with Greg he can only feel horrible for crashing Brian’s party, something that Brian has worked hard on. The party music instantly stops as he approaches Brian with the warrant, then he looks around the room for his brother and Brian looks at him speechless. Austin is alarmed by the look on his clients face and begins ushering the party goers outside. Coming back in and then looking over at Brian, waiting for an explanation.

“Tyler, what’s going on?” Austin asks.

“We’re going to be begin with the top floor and work out way down, then move on out to the lake. I’m sorry about this Brian.” Tyler says to the officer with him and then to Brian.

Brian can only stare at the Hannah’s brother for a moment, tears brimming his eyes at the warrant in front of him. His father could be here the whole time and he would have never known and the thought alone is enough to nearly make him burst. The entire thing reeks of a cover up and that is clear to him now, no doubt if they do find a body a trial would then happen.

"What is he talking about?" Austin asks.

“I’m not who you think I am...,” Brian states, his voice trailing off for a moment to go ahead and call his brother.

He keeps the phone call brief and Austin takes a look at the warrant in Brian’s hand getting more confused by the moment. Noticing his sister’s name on the paper, taking it for a moment to re-read and realize that Paige has confessed to murder. He is shell shocked, he knew his sister had an affair and was being blackmailed. Murder was out of the question, she wasn’t capable of it, it simply couldn’t be true.

“Who are you?” Austin finally manages to ask, once Brian is done with his phone call and is facing him again.

“My father was Elliot Davison he used to teach at the college. He disappeared four years ago, the last place he was seen was here. I came to town wanting to know what happened to him, he and Hannah were having an affair. I thought I could get answers through Vanessa and I began work on the book...” Brian starts, he is quickly cut off by the impact of Austin’s hands grabbing his collar.

Austin takes a few moments to try and calm himself down looking at Brian. He can only feel used and disgusted by someone that he truly thought had been wanting to tell the truth on Vanessa’s side of the story. He now is unsure of what to do or say to the man standing before him. Jake had been right all along, he had used everyone, lied to everyone about who he was and about why he was in town.

“So this was all about using Vanessa?” Austin asks, tempter flared.

He feels someone pull him back and is looking at Garrett Harvell who stands in between the two men. Picking up the warrant for a moment, to see his eyes go wide in shock.

“Detective Donovan, we have blood in here.”

The officers' voice seems to echo through the house and carry with it a silence.

“No, this was about finding out where my father was. Where he ran off to, why he disappeared and left my mother heartbroken, at first. Somewhere between then and now, I fell for her, that girl behind the wheel.” Brian manages to get out, as an officer brushes by him to make their way onto the patio.

Austin isn’t even sure why he finds himself somewhat at ease with Brian’s statement, knowing that it is true. He doesn’t feel like he is lying about caring for Vanessa and part of him feel horrible. He closes his eyes for a moment to soak it all in before looking at Garrett.

“Where is my daughter?” Garrett asks, looking between the two,

Brian looks at him for a moment. “She found out who I was. She saw me and Jake arguing and then ran out. He left afterwards.”

Garrett can only stare at the paper and the glimmer of hope that he was right the entire time about the set up of his daughter. That hope is diminished as the thought of his daughter remembering what happened that night prior to the accident comes to his mind. More so his part in the deception that took place in covering up what Kate and Jake had done.

Scene 7: Donovan Cabin; West Lake, NY

They have been sitting in silence for a good half an hour, neither have moved. Jake eventually taking a seat across from her in the hallway, Vanessa is still against the other wall, her eyes have dried. There is nothing left in her to cry out. Watching her fall apart has to be the hardest thing he has ever witnessed. He is still unsure of what to do now, she looks at him with disgust.

She is certain that she can never fully hate Jake Donovan, it simply isn’t possible even if that is the last thing she remembers telling him. Closing her eyes for a moment, she pushes herself back up off the wall to stand up, holding up a hand when he moves towards her again. She can’t deal with him anymore, she can’t deal with him being there, she can’t deal with the sight of him.

“Let me drive you home please, the cab is gone.” he offers quietly, she wants to say no but finds herself nodding her head.

On the way to the car the both see the police cars travel down the road on their way back towards Brian. Curious Jake helps her into the car, before starting it and making their way back towards Brian’s house. She gets out first, watching the police boat scan up and down the edge of the water. He can see Tyler and Greg over looking the pier and he can feel his stomach lurch wondering what they are doing at the lake.

“It’s over.” Vanessa says quietly.

He can feel his chest tighten at her harsh remark, knowing the comment is more directed at them than the memories returning. “I know.”

“What did Hannah tell you that night?”

She can feel herself ache for him, he didn’t know about Hannah and Elliot and she isn’t sure she can tell him the truth. He wasn’t part of sending her away she knows that as he asks what Hannah told her. He doesn’t know about the body that they are going to pull up from the lake or his sister’s involvement.

“She made a mistake with a professor at school, I didn’t know till that night. Something happened, with Elliot Davison and her, she and Paige got in over their heads...’ she finally offers, her voice breaking a bit. ‘She kept apologizing for you and Kate.”

“Tyler, we have a body!” Greg calls out.

Jake can feel the guilt of what happened that night sneak up on him as the realization that Hannah was involved with the body sits in. His sister, his baby sister, the girl that could do no wrong in his eyes, had helped kill someone. He can feel his stomach turn for a bit, his only safety net coming being next to Vanessa as he, cautiously he reaches out his hand to grab hers. It doesn’t matter if it’s over for them, he needs her to know he is there for her and he needs her to be there for him.

She doesn’t flinch in-fact Vanessa is fairly certain that she doesn’t feel anything other than finally free as they pull they body out of the lake. She looks down at her hand intertwined with Jake’s unsure of how to feel about it before looking back up to met Brian’s eyes by the dock. She isn’t sure who she can trust anymore, she isn’t sure who she wants to be with. She isn’t even sure how much hate she is supposed to have for everyone involved.

Neither notice Hannah behind them finally feeling at rest now that her final secret has been laid to rest.
