Series updated, Episode 28: It Is What It Is released!

Excerpt from 28:

Helping her sister up the stairs of her childhood home, Vanessa looks over at Cade who has his arms wrapped around her other shoulder. As soon, as she had gotten the call from Hank at Club 90 she had called Cade for a ride to find Callie trashed. Her sister is not the drinking type, in-fact she is far from it, never really fully embracing it getting her to even drink a glass of champagne is a challenge most of the time. Instead Callie, is slurring her words left and right, cursing and swearing, muttering on and off about Tyler and some chick named Jamie.

“The room is spinning.” The youngest Harvell states in her doorway.

“Let’s get you in bed.” Cade suggests, as he and Vanessa haul her into the room and help her onto the bed.

“This is all your fault...,” Callie states, looking at her older sister.

For a moment both Cade and Vanessa look at her shaking their heads, deciding it is best for her to just vent and get it off her chest. Instead Vanessa is taken in with shock at her sister’s outburst.

“If you would have just stayed locked up none of this would have happened. They wouldn’t have hired Jamie on at the station. Simon wouldn’t have come to town to ruin my life or my mother’s...,’ she says pausing to close her eyes, ‘You and Jake wouldn’t have this bizarre back and forth thing going on with one another and Tyler wouldn’t have slept with ho bag, also known as my other sister Jamie.”

“Callie...,” Cade attempts, only to stop halfway when her head hits the pillow and she is shortly thereafter snoring.

“You think she’s right don’t you?”

Episode 26 & 27: Nerve Damage & Set Fire To The Third Bar are released.

Excerpt from 26 &27:

Sitting inside a seedy motel room about twenty miles outside of West Lake, Ryan grabs his gun from the night stand when he hears a knock on his room door. Making sure the safety is off and checking the peephole to see Jessica on the other side of his door. Holding open the door to let her inside, making sure the gun’s safety is put back on the police have been breathing down his neck. His picture is all over the paper and the news, he even had to trade in his father’s silver watch.

“What in the hell were you thinking attacking Tyler at the warehouse?” Jessica asks, taking a seat at the end of the bed and removing her padding from her stomach.

The appointment with Jake and Peter went well, better than she expected the good doctor had even came up with the excuse that they didn’t need to do a live ultrasound. In fact, he had already got one for Jake, played it and let him know the baby was a hundred percent healthy. Jake had of course been none to pleased with the news, as he now couldn’t add to his case against her. Nothing was working out the way it was supposed to, Alan was on her, Jake didn’t want her, she was running out of options.

“You know I am getting really sick of this Jessica, you said the case would be over with already that the cops would close it. Paige was supposed to go down for this along with your father, you were supposed to marry Jake and I get my cut,’ Ryan says, pacing in front of her with the gun, ‘Instead I can’t go see my mother who is in town and could ruin everything. I have to live out of warehouses and just now here. Start thinking about that would you? I am the one taking all the risk.”

“Of course I am taking a risk, I put myself at risk everyday with Jake getting closer to the truth and now I have Alan breathing down my neck. I have to be careful I have to appear to be the good girl here. It will be over soon, we just need to hold out a bit longer.”

Ryan lets out a snort to her statement before turning and looking at her.

“You really think Alan is just going to sit by and let you trap Jake, now that he knows the truth?”

Jessica ponders his question for a moment, growing annoyed with his paranoia.

“No that is why I need you to find something that can’t be traced. He has a heart condition we can slip it into his drink and resolve the problem.”

Episode 25: Shadow of the Day is released.

Excerpt from 25:

Making his rounds after dropping Liz off for her weekly appointment Peter is more than irritated, he should be out tracking down Austin. Instead, he is at the hospital finishing out an extra shift that he was asked to pick up. He couldn’t say no to it, it wasn’t like he was rolling in money or anything like that he could use the extra cash. He, was however getting annoyed that Jessica kept calling him over and over again maybe she would finally get the hint. Turning the corner he bumped right into Kate, sending her stack of charts flying in the air and her nearly tumbling backwards.

“Sorry. I wasn’t watching where I was going.” Peter offers, reaching out to steady her.

Even though she has been diagnosed as high risk in her pregnancy it was not going to keep her from finishing out her residency. Instead she has cut back on the stress and the days that she is supposed to come in. Today just being one of those that is not going as planned. The baby has been kicking like crazy for the last few weeks, she has gained a ton of weight. Bumping into Liz’s brother is the last thing that she was looking forward to doing.

“It’s fine, it’s been a busy day,” she offers, bending over to reach for the files when the baby kicks again and she grabs her stomach.

Watching her movements Peter leads her to a seat, as soon as he sees her discomfort making sure she is comfortable before picking up her charts. In his professional medical opinion she should be at home on bed rest, as per her her doctor’s orders. Not up and checking on patients let alone working full shifts in the middle of her final trimester. By the time he reaches her again, she is moving to get back up and he gently makes her sit down for a bit longer.

“Take a few minutes Porter. I highly doubt the eighty year old in your next round is going to be up and making a mad dash out of their bed to the door.” Peter offers.

Episode 24: Secrets is released.

Excerpt from 24:

Sitting in his apartment, bottle of bourbon by the couch, television on Cade places his hands in his lap, he is unshaven. He hasn’t left the apartment in well over a week, he’s to busy spending time with her. Bright red hair sitting next to him, a glass on her end of the couch as they spend time together. It hasn’t been a happy time, she has already expressed her displeasure of how things have turned out.

“You should help my brother and your sister. You and I both know they’re supposed to end up together,” she says.

Glancing over at her he can’t believe how stunning she is years later, in her white summer dress. A smile on her face, as she leans in next to him and he can smell the scent of lavender radiating off of her skin. Reaching out he brushes his thumb across her jaw line for a moment, tucking the red strand of hair behind her ear.

“Maybe it is to late for them,” he offers.

Rising from the couch she paces in front of the television, her dress flowing with her hips, aggravation sitting in. Turning to look at him, her eyes go dark, distant and blank and he can feel the chill run down his spine. It has been days like this, her pointing out his flaws with the entire situation and he has to wonder if it is deserved or not.

“If you and your father hadn’t of kept Jake from her none of this would be happening right now. Kate would have stayed with Austin, and you wouldn’t have turned to her and betrayed me. Liz would be, I don’t know but God she wouldn’t be miserable with Austin playing house. Jessica would have never gotten her hooks into my brother and he would be happy with Vanessa.”

Episode 23: Ships is released.

Excerpt from Episode 23:

After her run in with Kate at the law firm, she returned home to pace in the kitchen eventually settling to cleaning the house the best that she can. Her mind is racing a million miles a minute as the clock tick by and Austin is still not home. She doesn’t like to think about him cheating on her with Kate and she isn’t even really sure that she can ask him about it. He has been distant for weeks since she has been home, and worse while she was in rehab.

When she hears the car pull into the driveway, she steps out of the guest bedroom making her way down the hall to look at him. Walking in the doorway, undoing his tie and placing his briefcase down by the table in the front door. He looks tired and she can’t help but just look at him, at how worn down he is. She bites the bottom of her lip for a moment and then looks at him again.

He has been working late nights, hoping to avoid the doubt that has been raised in the back of his head with Kate and her unborn child. One mistake could come back and ruin everything for him and Liz, and he is trying to try with Liz. Even if he knows that he is failing miserably at being a good husband to her. Not something that he is proud of, it just is what is at the moment for them.

She looks tired and a bit worried, leaning against the wall looking at him almost as if she is questioning him about something. She doesn’t come right out and say anything, but the look she is giving him is one of disappointment. He has had a long day at the office, placing calls for the mess that has become Brian’s hectic book tour.

“You should get some rest,” he says.

Camryn's heels clicked on the marble of the lobby of the West Lake Regency Hotel. It looked lush and lavish. She couldn't believe it. The little girl from Chicago Illinois was now married to one of the richest men in America. Being Ms. Mulroney had it's perk. All of the sudden she was thrown into the business world. Lace Mulroney had given her the best advice. Use the money that was at her disposal. So here she was. Expanding the Mulroney brand, with a new Skylight Hotel.

Since Maxwell told her West Lake was one of the newest vacations spots. She knew that where she wanted her hotel. This was her purchase and now she was meeting Cade Harvell. One of the best real estate investors on the East Coast. The cold air from the outside sent shivers down her spine as she walked into the bar. Throwing her mink shawl over the bar she smiled.

"Hello can you get me a strawberry Long Island Ice tea. Also a bourbon on the rocks straight."

Running a hand across her shimmering dress she looked around for Cade. She didn't know what he looked like but she was ready for him to come.

"Would you let me know when Mr. Harvell arrives." she slid a fifty to the bartender and winked at him.

Flipping her hair with both hands her long hair flew. She felt like all eyes were on her. Or maybe it was the fact she was new money. Either way Camryn was ready to get this meeting started.

Cade had gotten out of a meeting with the Tokyo office with Liz, before calling it a day he had a private meeting later that evening but had agreed to met his sister for a drink before hand. The client was from out of town hailing from Aztec Springs, NV and from the paperwork they had traded over a fax machine they were looking to buy in order to create a new hotel to gain and pick up tourism. Things were changing around West Lake they had been ever since the cover-up had come to light a few months prior, the town had been given a ton of press and coverage. Some were opposed to change, he however welcomed it gave him something to look forward to after his relationship with Kate had ended a few weeks ago, something he was trying to convince himself was in everyone's best interests.
